Hosting a static website using GitHub...
Hello guys,
Searching for "how to host a static website?". Here is a solution. No need to buy a domain. Just you need is a GitHub account. firstly login to your GitHub account, then create a repository. Click on new, fill the details and submit ,your repository will be ready.
Once you submit the details you will be directed into your repository, where you can see your files, edit them and more. So for uploading files from your desktop click on add files, then select upload files
as shown below.
After successful completion of above steps you will be directed to a new page where you can add your files from your desktop by clicking on choose your files.
After adding all the files required for you website, scroll down the page and click on commit changes.
After clicking on settings you will be directed to a new page, scroll down until you find GitHub Pages.
Once you find GitHub pages, under Source you will find a drop box with None as default option, click on drop down select master and click on save. Once you click on save option the page will be loaded and you will be directed to top, scroll down again and stop when you reach the GitHub Pages. Here you will find something that you were waiting for past few minutes, i.e the link to your website.
Click on the link, then you will find your website. Something like below.
Note: Make sure that the first page of your website is named as index.
