When the Right Book Finds You
With a heavy heart, I was traveling back from home to the place where I work. Goodbyes are never easy, and this one felt heavier than usual. As I walked toward the boarding gate, lost in my thoughts, I noticed a small bookstall nearby and decided to step in—hoping maybe a book could distract me.
I spent about five minutes browsing through the shelves. I picked up a self-help book, flipped through a few pages, but something didn’t feel right. It didn’t connect. I was about to leave the stall empty-handed when, almost by chance, a book placed on a lower rack—around waist height—caught my attention.
I picked it up.
The title read: “Discovering India through the eyes of Groww.”
Without overthinking, and perhaps just trusting the name Groww, I bought it.
A Flight Like No Other
Once I boarded the flight, I casually opened the book—and that’s when everything changed.
From the very first few pages, I was hooked.
The book was so engaging that I never felt disconnected for even a moment. As the flight progressed, I found myself completely immersed in it. I laughed, I felt emotional, and at times, I paused just to absorb what I had read. It wasn’t just reading—it was experiencing.
A Beautiful Pause
Before reaching my destination, I had a layover at another airport. The moment I stepped out, I was pleasantly surprised.
The ambience was unlike anything I had seen before—lush greenery, refreshing visuals, and a calming atmosphere. It felt almost therapeutic.
And yet, even in that beautiful environment, my mind kept drifting back to the book.
That’s how captivating it was.
Back to the Story
As soon as the next leg of the journey began, I picked up right where I had left off. The outside world faded away once again as I dived back into the pages.
By the time I reached my destination, I had finished the book.
Cloud Nine
In that moment, something shifted.
The heaviness I carried at the start of the journey was gone. I felt light. Fulfilled. Almost euphoric.
I was on cloud nine.
What started as a reluctant walk into a bookstall turned into one of the most memorable reading experiences of my life. Sometimes, the right book finds you when you need it the most—and this one did exactly that.
